What if you could have all your dentistry that you have been putting off for years in the conventional dental office in one or two comfortable visits?
What if you could finally receive all of the treatment while sleeping - free of fear and pain?
We specialize in Sedation Dentistry and Sleep Dentistry, treating people with dental phobias and anxieties We offer different types of sedation dentistry. These include administering oral sedation, a pill, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and intravenous sedation to deliver a combination of drugs. All this depends on the needs of the patient.
In this way the patient and the dentist are comfortable providing and receiving the best possible dental care-safe, and free of stress and pain.
What is Sedation Dentistry or Sleep Dentistry?
The patient is given oral medication about one hour before your appointment. The medicine puts you in a light state of sedation and you sleep thru your dental appointment. It is Safe! When you awaken your dental treatment is completed.
You need someone to drive you to and from your appointment. Once you arrive, you are allowed to rest comfortably in a warm, quiet room under a cozy blanket. During the entire time you are here, we will closely monitor you to ensure your safety.
Complex dental treatments that often require six or more appointments can be done in as little as one! All while you sleep.

Dr. Efrain A. Socarras
As a caring professional, Dr. Socarras creates an inviting environment that allows everyone to feel at home with his down-to-earth approach and lighthearted humor. He is also a dedicated scholar who continues to learn and offer patients the best treatments and painless solutions to create healthy, beautiful smiles.
Born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Socarras began his medical education at age 15 when he enrolled at the University Catholic, Mother and Master in the Dominican Republic. He graduated in 1984 with a Doctor's degree in Stomatology, the science of the mouth and its diseases.
Dr. Socarras received his D.D.S. at New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry in 1990, and then accepted a Fellowship in the Oral Surgery Residency Program of Bellevue Hospital Medical Center (1990-1991). Coming full circle, he returned to NYU College of Dentistry as an Assistant Clinical Professor to teach senior dental students.
Dr. Socarras earned certification in Intravenous Sedation at the Albert Einstein Bronx Medical Center where he studied with Norman Trieger, and also received certification in Oral Sedation from Doctors of Oral Conscious Sedation (DOCS).
Most remarkable is his focused study and professional experience with dental implants. He was mentored and trained by pioneers in the field, including Doctors Richard Kraut, Leonard Linkow, and Richard Glickman. Following intense study, work with thousands of patient implants, and an extensive peer panel review, Dr. Socarras earned the extraordinary honor of receiving a Fellowship at the same time as he was made a Diplomat of Implant Dentistry by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (April 2001). To date, he has consulted and worked on over 11,000 dental implants.
After opening a private practice in Queens, New York in 1993, he became one of the most prominent young Hispanic dentists. He expanded his dental practice over the years to serve patients in multiple locations. While in the New York area for several years, he then moved his family to neighboring Connecticut. He provided consulting services to several dental practices while searching for an ideal location to resume his own private practice. In May 2012, Dr. Socarras opened a new dental practice in Prospect, Connecticut where he contributes to the surrounding areas.
