My Sisters' Place has honored Channel 3's Scot Haney with its Advocate Award.

The organization has awarded Scot for "his extraordinary effort in bringing attention to important causes through hundreds of personal appearances each year."

"(Scot) donates thousands of hours and attends hundreds of events each year to help promote important causes in our state. Scot's enthusiastic support and genuine concern for various organizations has brought attention to many important issues.

"Scot has assisted in raising millions of dollars for local charities, including My Sisters' Place.

"We personally want to thank Scot for the support he has given us, but we also want him to know that his volunteer efforts are appreciated not only by MSP, but by the thousands of lives he touches."

The Advocate Award is given to an individual who brings attention to important causes and helps to educate the community through their volunteer efforts and public appearances.

My Sisters' Place is an organization that has provided programs and runs three shelters for homeless women and children for the past 25 years.
