Bus Trip to Pequot MuseumTunxis Community College invites the community on a bus trip to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum an Research Center in Ledyard February 9, 2007. The bus will leave the Tunxis parking lot at 8 a.m. and return about 5:30 p.m. The museum's 85,000 square feet of indoor exhibits features dioramas, interactive computer programs, films, archival materials, ethnographic and archeological collections and commissioned works of art and traditional crafts by Native Americans. Participants will be free all day to view the exhibits and have lunch on their own in the museum's restaurant. Dr. Paul Wittmer will be on hand to share information on various Native American topics. Time, Space and PhotographyMark Klett, an internationally known photographer and Arizona State University Regents’ Professor, photographs the intersection of landscapes, cultures and time. Using western survey photographs of the 1860s and 1870s, Klett revisited the sites of the original photographs in the 1970s and again in the 1980s, taking new photographs from the original vantage points. His talk is part of the Edwin Way Teale Lecture Series on Nature and the Environment and will be held at 4 p.m., February 1, 2007, at the Benton Museum at the University of Connecticut.
