All-You-Can-Eat Pancake BreakfastThe Bristol Lions Club will hold its 35th annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., April 1, 2007, at the Giamatti Little League Center, Mix Street, Bristol. Pancake Breakfast in EssexEssex Fire Company No. 1 will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11:30 a.m., April 1, 2007, in the Essex Fire Headquarters, Saybook Road. Adults are $5 and children 5 and under are free. Proceeds benefit the all-volunteer department.l

Easter Bunny Railway ExpressThe Danbury Railway Museum, 120 White Street, Danbury, will host a visit from the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 1, 6 and 7, 2007, with train rides beginning at 12:15 p.m. Admission is $8 for those ages 2 and older and each child will receive a small gift. Reservations are suggested. The short train ride in a fully-restored 1953 New Haven Railroad diesel car will take visitors to the only operating turntable in the state and have the opportunity to travel past over 60 vintage railroad cars and locomotives and many pieces of railroad history. George Winston Piano ConcertGrammy Award-winning solo pianist George Winston will perform at 7:30 p.m., April 2, 2007, at the Bruyette Athenaeum’s Hoffman Auditorium on the campus of St. Joseph College, 1675 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford. Community Passover SedersChabad: East of the River will hold two community Passover Seders. The Seder is a traditional meal during which family and community commemorate the Jewish Exodus from Egypt. The Seders will be held at 7:30 p.m., April 2 and 3, at the new Chabad Jewish Center, 25 Harris Street, Glastonbury. The Tuesday Seder will highlight the mystical elements of the holiday. Talk on the Modern Day TeenagerDr. Anthony E. All you need is the dirty dog, The Crate Escape will provide the rest! They feature 4 extra large stainless steel professional grooming tubs that will accommodate any breed from a tiny Chihuahua to a giant Saint Bernard. All tubs are waist height and have a walk up ramp for easy access. They provide the shampoo, brushes, aprons, towels, cool airdryer, clippers and grooming tables. And they even clean up the mess! Dog wash price is $15 with $5 being donated to Labs4rescue. They will also have a groomer available to do nail trims at $8 per dog.

Tour for Life in New HavenThe New Haven Animal Shelter and North Shore Animal League will hold the Tour for Life featuring animals of every shape, size and color for adoption. There will also be information and education. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 28 and 29, 2007, at IKEA, Long Wharf, off I-95 in New Haven. If you are interested in adopting, bring proof of home ownership (mortgage statement or tax bill), or if you are already a dog owner and want to adopt another, you must bring your dog to test for compatibility. Gas and Steam Engine ShowThe Belltown Antique Car Club will hold its 33rd annual Gas and Steam Engine Show at Fireman's Field, Salmon River State Forest, East Hampton from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 29, 2007. Admission is $3 and on display will be examples of early engines that powered machinery, sawmills and even washing machines. A display of antique tractors will also be featured. Little League Opening DayThe Windsor Locks Little League Opening Day will be held April 29, 2007, with a parade beginning at noon followed by dedication ceremony and a doubleheader between the town’s four major league Little Leaguers. Admission is free and there will be food and drinks available.

Gospel Concert in New BritainTheresa Thomason, Paul Halley and the South Church Chancel Choir will join talents a concert “The Rain is Over and Gone,” at 4 p.m., April 29, 2007, at South Church, Main and Arch streets, New Britain. The concert will feature mezzo-soprano Theresa Thomason who will sing traditional gospel songs and spirituals by Connecticut composer and conductor Paul Halley. College Photographs on ExhibitStudents from the Paier College of Art will exhibit their photographs at Artwell Gallery from April 30 to May 5, 2007. As part of their senior degree project, several students will be exhibiting a final summation of their photographic education. The opening reception is from 6 to 8 p.m., May 5, 2007, at the gallery, 19 Water Street, Torrington. The public is invited and the reception is free.
