Toy Museum Opening in Wethersfield A Toy Museum and Children’s Exhibits open May 2 through October 31, 2007, at the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum in Wethersfield, For more than 10 years, the second floor of the museum has been closed but will now feature a recreated 1830s children’s bedroom, a 19th-century toy museum and interactive room where children can play with various reproduction toys and games and try on historic clothing. Alzheimer’s Caregivers Course The Alzheimer’s Association will hold a caregiver’s course from 6 to 8 p.m., May 3, 10 and 17, 2007, at the Buckingham Estates Memory Care Community in Glastonbury. ’The Earth Mass’ in Hartford Gospel singer Theresa Thomason will be the featured soloist at a performance of “Missa Gaia: The Earth Mass,” at 7:30 p.m., May 4, 2007, at South Congregational Church, 277 Main Street, Hartford. Silk City Runway Project The Manchester Historical Society will host the Silk City Runway Project, a fashion show fundraiser featuring the spring collection of award-winning fashion designer Jennifer Stern. Fine Art and Wine Auction The Colchester Land Trust’s online auction of fine art and wine has begun. This month-long auction will be open for on-line bidding through May 4. Simsbury Library Groundbreaking Ground breaking ceremonies for the Simsbury Library will be held at 11 a.m., May 9, 2007, at 725 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury. The public is invited. Guilford Road Race The 13th annual Guilford Savings Bank Road Race will be held May 20, 2007, to again benefit local charities. This year’s race begins at 9:15 a.m. at Jacob’s Beach.
