Gamma Ray Play in Groton The  Falcom Theater Company of Fitch High School will present "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds," at 7:30 p.m., November 16 and 17, and at 2 p.m., November 17, 2007, at the high school, 101 Groton Long Point Road, Groton.  Admission is $10 for adults, and $6 for students and senior citizesn.   Call to reserve at 860-884-5412.  Seating is limited.  The production is in a black bozx format on the stage.  Information, www.thesecryt.com .

Beer, Wine and Cheese Tasting  The third annual Connecticut River Valley, Not-So-Snooty Beer, Wine and Cheese Tasting Adventure to benefit the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., November 16, 2007, at the New England Air Museum   Windsor Lock.s   Admission is $35 per person or $25 with a military id.  The wine, beer and cheese served is made in the Connecticut River Valley as well as homemade desserts.  There will be raffle prizes such as spa packages, wine and cheese baskets, restaurant gift certificates, sporting goods and two round-trip airplane ticekts.  Event parking is free.  Information, 748-3097, www.spaceandaviationday.org.

Annual Church Fair in Winsted The annual Church Craft Fair will be h eld from 10 a.m. to 2 .m., November 17, 2007, at the Church of Christ, 800 Main Street, Winsted.  There will be a vareity of crafts, hand-knit items, baked goods, gift baskets, Christmas cookie baskets and a luncheon.  Raffle tickets at $1 each will be available for six prizes including a grand prize of a queen-size quilt made by the women of the church.  Admission is free.

Holiday Craft Show A Holiday Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., November 17, 2007, at the Oswegatchie School, 470 Boston Post Road, Waterford.  Admission is free.  Featured will be baked goods, a children''s craft corner, door prizes and lots of local crafters.

Holiday Bazaar in Glastonbury  A Holiday Bazaar will  be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., November 18, 2007, at Congregation Kol Haverim, 1079 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury.  Over 20 exhibitors from across the state will showcase their handmade crafts including children's clothing, toys, backpacks, stationary, table runners, woolen items, ladies' accesories, fleece blankets and pillows, garden ornaments, wooden items, dog coats and toys, stained glass and jewelry. Back to Broadway Concert  A fundraising Back to Broadway Concert to benefit the New Haven Ronald McDonald House will be held at 54 p.m., November 18, 2007, at the Northford Congregational Church in Northford.  A free-0will offering to will benefit the RMH.

International Student Information An information session on how to become an international student at Tunxis Community College will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., November 21, 2007, at the school, routes 6 and 177, Farmington.  The session is designed for those who are in the United States on temporary visas and for Connecticut residents who would like to obtain information for family who live overseas.  Advance registration is required, call 860-255-3551 or on-line at www.tunxis.commnet.edu

Free Thanskgiving Dinner A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served from noon to 3 p.m., November 22, 2007, at the Faith Healing and Delieverance Ministries, 60 Connolly Parkway, Hamden.  For information, 203-772-4223, www.faithhealdel.org.

Bethel Tree Lighting The Bethel Tree lighting Festival will be held from noon to 6 p.m., November 23, 2007, in downtown Bethel.  Enjoy a horse-drawn ride through town, sing carols on the green, sample complimentary soup from local restaurants and enjoy cider and donuts while Santa arrives on a fire truck for the tree-lighting event.   

Holiday Sea of Trees The annual Holiday Sea of Trees will be on display from November 23 to January 2, 2008, at the Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration, 55 Coogan Blvd., Mystic, exit 90 off I-95.  Over 20 Christmas trees will be on display with different themes and decorated by local organizations.  The Sea of Trees is free with any admission ticket.  Information, 860-572-5955.

Wreath Sale In Scotland  A wreath sale a Santa breakfast via Lifestar will be held November 23 to December 15, 2007, axt the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department.  The 22 to 24-inch balsam wreaths with a bow are $14 and will be available from 5 to 8 p.m., weeknights and from 2 to 8 p.m. weekends. Information, www.svfd16.com.

Children's Safety Day  Children's Safety Day will be held from noon to 4 p.m., November 24, 2007, at the Windsor Price Chopper Supermarket, 675 Poquonock Avenue, Windsor.  The program, sponsored by the Windsor Police Department, includes children's safety, fingerprinting, bike safety (bring child's bike), fire safety, contests and prizes, face-painting and balloons. Take a holiday picture with Santa, bring a camera.   

Mystic Tree Lighting The fifth annual Mystic Holiday Boat Ride and Toy Drive will be held at 6 p.m., November 24, 2007, from Mystic River Park and Boardwalk on Cottrell Street, Mystic.  To kick-off this season, please bring a new, unwrapped toy donation to benefit the children of the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.  Boat owners are invited to light their vessels to be judged in a parade down the Mystic River.  To register a vessel, call 860-572-9578 or on-line at www.MysticChamber.org.

Horse Guard Open House The First Company Governor's Horse Guard will hold its first Fall open house to raise community awareness abo9ut the troop and recruit new troopers for its 230th year.  All residents and especially prospective members, are encouraged to visit the unit's Avon headquarters for a mounted calvary drill demonstration and pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., November 25, 2007.  The tax-deductible breakfast is $7 per person.  New applicants must be at least 18 years old and need no prior riding or military experience to join the volunteer organization, one of four state militia units.  All recruits complete a 16-week training program which includes riding instruction as well as horse care   and military bearing and courtesy.  Potention recruits may contact Lt. kenneth Jacobs by e-mail at knthjacobs@aol.com or call 860-805-7837.  Applications are available on-line at www.govhorseguards.org.  The facility is located on West Avon Road, Avon.

'The Laramie Project'  "The Laramnie Project" will be presented at 7: 3 p.m., November 29 and 30, 2007, at Asnuntuck Community College, 170 Elm Street, Enfield.   The story is about the community of Laramie, Wyoming, and its reaction to the death of Matthew Shepard, a student who was kidnapped, beaten and left to die, tied to a fence, on the outskirts of Laramie.  The event may not be suitable for children.  Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.  Information, www.acc.commnet.edu.

Non-Perishable Food Drive  A non-perishable food drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, through December 20, 2007, at Zemels, 67 Newtown Road, Danbury.  All collected items will be donated to the CT Food Bank in time for the holidays.  Informatio0n, www.zemels.com or call 203-743-6761, ext. 106. 

Quinnipiac Dance Company  Quinnipiac University's Dance Company will present its fall production "Sweet as Dancin' Feet," at 7 p.m., November 29, 30, December 1, 2007, at the Clarice L. Buckman Theater, 275 Mount Carmel Avenue, Hamden.  Admission is free.  The production will consist of 29 company members performing jazz, tap, lyrical, modern and hip-hop.  The Twilight Tappers, a Hamden-based group of tap dancers, age 65 and older, will perform in the show on both Friday and Saturday.  Information, 203-582-8652.

Benefit Spaghetti Dinner  A Spaghetti Dinner to benefit the Veterans of the Rocky Hill Veterans Hospital  will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., November 29, 2997, at the Bristol Elks Lodge, 126 South Street. Admission is $5 per person.

Fairfield Museum Open House An open house at the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road, Fairfield, will be held at 7 p.m., following Fairfield’s tree-lighting ceremony November 30, 2007.  Information, www.fairfieldhs.org

Holiday Bazaar in East Granby Copper Hill United Methodist Church will hold its annual Holiday Bazaar from 1 to 3 p.m., November 30, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., December 1, 2007, at the church, Copper Hill Road, East Granby.  The bazaar will feature a bake sale with homemade cookies, pies, cakes, breads and more; a food sale on Saturday with take-out main dishes; a Saturday luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m..  There will also be hand-knit items such as hats, mittens, scrafs, afghans as well as puzzles, toys, and holiday decorations.
