Courtney Visits Channel 3 Kids Camp
Camp Needs New Septic System, Well

ANDOVER, Conn. -- The Channel 3 Kids Camp may receive federal help for a new septic system and well.U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-District 2, visited the camp in Andover on Monday. He may be helping the camp raise more money for a project that will cost more than $1 million.The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has given the camp $300,000 so far."We're willing to sit down with the leadership of the camp and try and see if there is some help we can give through the normal grant process or project earmark process in the budget," Courtney said.
The funds for the camp would come from federal and state money.The Channel 3 Kids Camp is supported by grants from foundations and companies and donations from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.The camp provides one- and two-week overnight camping experiences every summer for more than 750 underprivileged Connecticut boys and girls.
