Call for Submissions A Call for Photographic Submissions for professional and serious amateur photographers as well as students, is being made by the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road, Fairfield, for its second annual juried photography exhibition to be held in May. This open competition will be curated by a jury of professional photographers and advertising executives. Winning entries will be featured in the IMAGES exhibition at the museum May 8 through June 6, 2010. A preview party will be held May 7. Deadline for entries is April 7, 2010. Synergy Socials For children with disabilities or challenges such as anger management, the Waterford-based Synergy Center Corporation offers a unique new option - Synergy Socials, a skill-building class at Mystic Aquarium, 55 Coogan Blvd., Mystic. The prgoram is open to children from age five to nine with disabilities such as autism, attention deficit disorder, Rett Syndrome and intellectural disabilities, or who have difficulty getting along with other children. Problem Gambling Tunxis Community College invites the community to free screenings to help identify possible gambling problems from noon to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m., March 4, 2010, in the Administration Building corridor. Sculpture Exhibit The University of New Haven Seton Art Gallery and the Visual and Performing Arts Department present "Turning Wheel," a solo exhibition by sculptor Susan Clinard. In working with clay and carving wood, Clinard draws on and layers nature's puzzles with both personal and political themes of inherent emotion.
