Garden of Hope Auction Tickets are now on sale for Connecticut's Garden of Hope Auction to benefit the Channel 3 Kid's Camp. Mall Walkers The public is invited to join residents from The Village at Kensington Place senior living community as they travel to healthier lives through a new mall walking program. Shared Ability Dance Workshops New Haven Ballet will offer two “Shared Ability” dance workshops for students with physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities ages 12 to 20. The workshops will pair these students with dancers from the New Haven Ballet for a fun and stimulating 90-minute program of warm-up exercises, movement studies and shared improvisations. Soapstone Carving Soapstone is a mineral used by people throughout the world to produce many difference items of utility and beauty. Concert Series The Woodland Concert Series will present mezzo-soprano Anne Sofia von Otter in a program of music composed by Jewish composers during their imprisonment at Theresienstadt, a concentration camp in Czechoslovakia. In the camp,. Musicians, artists and intellectuals were allow to flourish, despite malnutrition and appalling conditions and despite the daily dispatch of many of their numbers to their deaths in Auschwitz. Scholarship Fundraising Dinner A Scholarship Dinner to benefit the Children’s Community School will be held April 28, 2009, at Villa Rosa of Pontelandolfo Club in Waterbury. Donation is $50. Autism Speaks Fundraiser A Tennis and Fitness Fundraiser will be held from April 30 to May 2, 2009, at the Tennis and Fitness Center of Rocky Hill.
