Superintendent of Schools Steven Adamowski held a meeting on a proposed education reform through which 350 jobs in the district could be cut.

The plan would also make the school year three weeks shorter, he said.

The reform is part of the five-year district-wide overhaul plan Adamowski released this year.

The plan, he said, consists of reorganizing the Hartford schools into smaller specialty schools.

The proposal is a result of the current budget situation, he said.

The proposal was presented to Mayor Eddie Perez Wednesday. At the meeting, Adamowski told Perez there could be ramifications to the proposal.
