UPDATED: 8:33 pm EDT October 27, 2008

Racial slurs were found Oct. 24 written on a cork board in a Quinnipiac University dorm room.

Quinnipiac security officers said the writing include the “N” word and a Swastika. The board, they said, was located just outside the room of two African-American members of the Quinnipiac basketball team.

Hamden police said they were called after a poster board containing racial slurs was found outside of a dormitory the next day.

On Monday, between 10:30 and 11 a.m., three African-American Quinnipiac basketball players received harassing telephone calls, which contained similar racial overtones, police said. All three reside in the aforementioned dormitories.

Both boards were seized as evidence by police. The incident is under investigation by the Hamden Police Department Detective Division.
