TOLLAND, Conn. -- The director of iconic horror flicks is looking at Connecticut for the backdrop of his newest project.

The former Tolland High School building may be used in director Wes Craven's horror film, "25/8," to be released in 2009.

Craven, known for films like "Scream" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street" told reporters that "25/8" is less gore and more thrill.

The production company is still awaiting approval from the town's superintendent.

The movie is set to be shot both inside and outside the school.

Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Katy Zachry reported that the building's classrooms, hallways, offices and auditorium would be used in the film.

"The scenes portray the average comings and goings of everyday life in an average high school," the movie's production company said in a letter. "Neither the name of the school, nor the town of Tolland will appear in the film. A fictitious name will be attributed to both."

The company said that no violent scenes would be shot on school property.

Local police officers will be hired for support during filming, which is scheduled for the third week in April, the company said.
