In honor of his 10 years at Channel 3, Gov. Jodi Rell has declared Nov. 21 "Scot Haney Day."

Rell said that Connecticut's residents have relied on Scot for the past 10 years for precise weather forecasts.

  • Rell's Letter Announcing Scot Haney Day
  • She said Scot has become an important member of Connecticut's media, and has also become a vital member of the community.

Rell applauded Scot's work to promote and raise funds for charities, including the Channel 3 Kids Camp.

"I, M. Jodi Rell, governor of the State of Connecticut, in recognition of Scot's many years of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Connecticut, do herby proclaim Nov. 21, 2008 as Scot Haney Day," Rell said in a written statement.

"While it may be fun to tease Scot, I must admit that he is truly a Connecticut treasure," Rell said.

Rell was among the guests delivering a message at a roast honoring Scot's 10 years at the station on Thursday.
