CORNWALL, Conn. -- Most people don't think of going to the town dump to see an art exhibit, but there will be one on display at the Cornwall dump the weekend of April 24.The sign for the show -- stenciled on discarded refrigerator doors -- sets the tone for the event, and the raw materials for much of the art in the show may have come from the dump. For the last 10 years, between 50 and 75 artists and hundreds of art lovers have shown up to show, tell, buy and sell in and around the sand shed at the dump."Gail found the mannequin at the dump here, something she calls Lightheaded, and, of course, it's all wired and it lights up," resident Richard Griggs said. This year, high-schoolers will also participate in the show. Officials said 70 percent of sales at the show go to the artists. They said the other 30 percent goes to provide supplies for the art program at the high school. For more information, visit the Art At The Dump Web site.
