MADISON, Conn. -- Those heading to Hammonassett State Park in Madison for the holiday weekend may experience a twist on the idea of rest and relaxation.Longtime visitors to the campground to rough it may do a double-take this weekend when they arrive and see the new cabins."They have everything you need in them," said Bonnie Osborne, a Guilford resident and regular at the park.Osborne said she and her husband are among the first Connecticut residents to take advantage of the new cabins."They're comfortable and cool," Osborne said. "The beds are a little hard, but other than that they're really nice.""Cabins usually go well in a wooded setting with a pond and some trees around, but " thought on the shoreline they would be popular," saud Roger Kindeman, the park's supervisor. He said the cabins include a double bed and electricity, but that renters need to bring their own linens. But at a cost of $35 per night if you rent it for a full week, many residents said it's worth it, which could be the reason the cabins are already booked up for the summer.
