BRISTOL, Conn. -- A 5-year-old Bristol boy was honored at a ceremony Tuesday night for saving the life of his younger sister.Trevor Caron noticed his 2-year-old sister, Hannah, had nearly hanged herself on the cord to blinds in their Bristol home this past June.Hannah was having difficulty breathing when Trevor jumped in to help."He turned around and helped Hannah and pushed her up against the window," said Trevor's mother, Nancy Caron. "We have radiators in the room and it was just enough to put her feet on there and he was able to pull it off her neck, saving her life."Hannah was rushed to the hospital, where doctors called the incident a close call.Caron was awarded the Citizen's Commendation Life Saving Medal at a city ceremony."The follow-up medical assessment revealed the Hannah was moments away from passing out due to restricted airways. There is no doubt that Trevor's intervention saved his sister's life," the award reads.Trevor said he didn't think of what to do, he just sprung into action."I didn't think about it. When I just saw the thing on her neck, I tried to take it off," he said.
