The dinner raised funds for their rewards that the organization distributes for anonymous information that helps to solve crimes.

The nonprofit organization rewards up to $1,000 for information that leads to arrests.

"Crime Stoppers is used as a both crime prevention and crime solvent tool for the Waterbury Police Department," organization spokesman Martin Scully said. "It's a method for the community to get involved with eliminating crime within the neighborhoods."

Crime Stoppers was organized 25 years ago and has helped the Waterbury Police Department resolve more than 600 cases with more than 1,000 convictions.
