Stop & Shop Supermarkets has offered to fill all of its antibiotics prescriptions for free until mid-March -- as long as you have a prescription.

The deal is for two-week supplies of 36 generic antibiotics within nine different families, Stop & Shop officials said.

In today’s economy, most people said they’re pinching pennies where they can.

Stop & Shop has joined other stores in the move, including Wal-Mart and Publix.

“The service applies only to new prescriptions and refills filled through March 21,” said Jerry Krygier, of Stop & Shop.
