Quinnipiac University has opened an isolation room on campus for students to be sent if they begin to come down with flu-like symptoms.

Over the weekend, the number of students who began to feel ill and head to the student health center for treatment began to spike.

Due to the rise of sick students, Quinnipiac University set up two different isolation rooms in its recreation center.

If any student doesn’t feel well, has a fever of 100 degrees, is coughing and has a sore throat, they will be assigned to one of the rooms.

Students will need to go to collect their belongings from their room, then go to the isolation room. There they can wait for a parent to come and escort them off campus.

The university has been educating students on staying healthy but officials said that prevention can only go so far.
