A Marine stationed in Iraq didn't let the thousands of miles between him and Connecticut stop him from wishing his great-grandmother a happy 95th birthday on Friday. Dorothy Paul spent some quality time chatting with her great-grandson Sgt. Chris Davis. Via a videoconference, Davis sent his great-grandma a birthday greeting from Al Asad.

"All this technology … it's so much and from when I was a youngster … you're lucky if you have a telephone," Paul said. "Now I'm talking and seeing him on the screen -- fantastic."

A full-blown fiesta was held for Paul, complete with gifts, cake and family and friends from as far away as Atlanta.

The videoconference was arranged by AT&T and the Carriage Green Assisted Living Facility in Milford.

"I don't know what's going to be next," Paul said. "I said to the girls, 'I'm going to have to pinch myself because there's so much going in. on? I'm going to wonder if I dreamed it."
