23 Years Later, Governors Beat Blue Devils

Wilbur Cross 15, West Haven 14

POSTED: 3:38 am EDT September 29, 2007

The West Haven Blue Devils looked for a win Friday, taking on the Wilbur Cross Governors in New Haven.

Early on, Wilbur Cross senior Juan Morrobell took the high snap and went in untouched around the corner for six points.

West Haven came back when quarterback Tom Lawrence put up a prayer on fourth down and found Kevin Gray

Then, on the goal line, the Governors dug in their heels for the stop, but tailback Mike Brockenberry went top for six points.

The Governors would actually come back and win this one by one, 15-14 -- it's their first win over West Haven in 23 years.
