NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Rain couldn't stop the Golden Hurricanes in hard-hittin' New Britain on Friday night.The New Britain Golden Hurricanes scored early on as they played host to the Simsbury Trojans.New Britain quarterback James Stevens found the receiver on the sideline, who went all the way to the house for a score.But the laundry was on the field: A penalty flag brought the play back, which gave some life to Simsbury.Later, Simsbury running back Arnold Lawton took the handoff and went up the middle for the score.Simsbury still trailed 21-7, and the Golden Hurricanes would add to it.Tailback and past Channel 3 Athlete of the Week B.J. Aponte took the handoff, bounced outside, got a block and was gone for a touchdown. Aponte had four scores and 209 yards rushing.The Golden Hurricanes took care of the Trojans, 35-14.
