THOMPSON, Conn. -- An inventor in northeastern Connecticut is selling an item he claims can help a car get 100 miles per gallon.Michael Dabrowski has an E-Wheel under his car and an electro-converter in the front seat. Dabrowski said that when the wheel turns once, the motor turns four times, giving him 150 miles per gallon of gas.
"I like the ability to maximize my mileage while driving at normal speeds," he said.
He said the gas to electric converter adds 100 miles to the 57 miles per gallon his Honda Insight gets."We're a 150 miles per gallon right now, which is as high as the gauge goes," he said. With prices at the pump reaching $4 per gallon, Dabrowski said he has a waiting list for the product. He sells the converter kits for $750 each on his Web site.
