ATVs Recalled Due To Risk Of Injury
Consumers Urged To Make Appointment To Get Repairs

HARTFORD, Conn. -- ATVs distributed by Fushin USA have been recalled because they pose a risk of injury to young riders, according to the Department of Consumer Protection.The DCP said Tuesday that the ATVs lack front brakes, a tire pressure gauge and padding to cover the sharp edges on the handlebar assembly.Although no injuries have been reported, there have been 250 reports of the straps breaking, DCP said, and the potential for injury remains high.The product was manufactured in China and distributed by Fushin USA LLC, of Dallas, Texas.The ATVs were sold nationwide at Fushin dealerships and online from October 2005 to May 2006 for $250 to $350. The recall includes FXSA 002A-90cc. It was sold in black, red, blue, yellow, green, pink, tan camo, blue camo, army camo, green camo, leaf camo, pink camo and yellow/black.DCP Commissioner Jerry Farrell Jr. said consumers should cease using the ATVs immediately and call their local dealerships for a free repair.For more information, call 866-659-8600 Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. Central Time or visit the company's Web site.
