MANCHESTER, Conn. -- A man was caught camping out overnight in the Manchester library with intentions of burglarizing the building, police said.Police said Alfred Corsino, 50, hid in the library's basement after closing. According to police, Corsino attempted to steal a set of computer towers."He had cut some wires to some computers in the library, some computer towers and packaged them up, ready to go out the door with some DVDs. He also had some floppy disks on him as well," said Sgt. Chris Davis. The burglar was arrested before making his was out of the front door, thanks to the library's burglar alarm, police said.Library director Doug McDonough said that while the computer towers did not have any valuable information on them, they would have been a big loss for one of the busiest libraries in Connecticut."Those computers are heavily used all day long at the main checkout desk. And we would have been hurting, missing all four computers from that front desk today," McDonough said.Corsino's record lists prior arrests and convictions from Groton to Waterbury.Police said that although Corsino didn't break into the library, he will face burglary charges because he hid inside with the intent to steal.
