Police Break Up Underage Keg Party

Two Parties Broken Up At House In Recent Months

UPDATED: 8:48 pm EST October 30, 2006

Police said they broke up a party involving underage teens and alcohol at a home where a similar party had been broken up months earlier.

About 13 underage teens in addition to the party's underage host, Joseph Braccone, were consuming alcohol at a Farmington party Saturday, according to police.

"It wasn't that elaborate. Just beer and beer cups and alcohol," said Sgt. Daniel Devine of the Farmington Police Department.

Braccone's parents, Paul and Dawn Braccone, were arrested in connection with a keg party for underage teens that police broke up at their home in January, police said.

Police said Braccone's parents weren't home during the recent party and said they don't believe the parents were aware of what was going on at their home.

"It doesn't surprise us. This is the thing we were trying to stress to everyone: If you as a parent host one of these underage drinking parties yourself, then what's to stop your kid from thinking that they can go ahead and do it when the parents aren't home?" Devine said.

Braccone and six other partygoers received town code violations for possession of alcohol and Braccone also received a violation for hosting the party.

Police said they didn't make any arrests because they wanted the case to be handled in Farmington rather than at a regional courthouse.
