ENFIELD, Conn. -- Enfield Mayor Patrick Tallarita has confirmed that four teenagers, including his son, were cited for underage drinking at his home last month.Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said Tuesday that officers responded to a medical call at Tallarita's house on Feb. 24.After an investigation that night, the officers cited four teens on liquor violations, Sferrazza said. The names of those cited remain sealed because they are juveniles."We didn't know about this. We left the house, a few kids were there watching movies, and what happened, happened," Tallarita told Eyewitness News
Tallarita said Tuesday that he and his wife consider the incident a family matter and they are dealing with it as any parent would.Tallarita told Eyewitness News that he didn't see his son's arrest as having any affect on his post as mayor."My son is learning from this experience and he's accepted the consequences," Tallarita said. "I think any parent should be able to know where we're coming from."
