HARTFORD, Conn. -- A mother is waiting for an autopsy to reveal whether a body found in the trunk of her car is her missing son.The body of a young man was found in the trunk of a car parked in Hartford's North End around 5 p.m. Tuesday.Police said the car was trespassing on a driveway on Capen Street and the officer had it towed to Cross Country Auto.Police said an employee at Cross Country Auto saw blood smears on the trunk and called police, who discovered the body.
A spokeswoman for the police department said the stabbing victim and the attacker may have known each other."There may have been some type of struggle," Hartford Police Chief Daryl Roberts said. The car belongs to 18-year-old Clinton Cook's mother. Cook's mother, Maxine Wray, said she became worried when her son didn't come home from his job at the Target store in New Britain Monday afternoon.Wray said the she called the store and was informed that her son hadn't shown up for work that day."I couldn't sleep last night not knowing if it is him or not, and now I have to wait to find out," said Wray. "They don't know if it's him or not but I don't want to think it's him at all."Police are not releasing the name of the body found in the trunk until they receive a positive identification from the medical examiner.
