UPDATED: 6:39 pm EDT April 11, 2007

Police are investigating an overnight home invasion in Milford.

A 54-year-old woman reported that three men wearing masks entered her Cinnamon Road home while she slept.

She said the men struck her in the face with a blunt object. The woman told police that she pretended to be unconscious while the men bound her and put her in a closet.

The men left after ransacking the woman's home, according to police. The woman was able to free herself and call 911. She was taken to Yale New Haven hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the men appeared to have entered the home through a basement window.

Detectives were gathering forensic evidence from the home Wednesday.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to contact the Milford Police Department by dialing 203-877-1465.
