A man accused of exposing himself to children in Hartford was taken into police custody Friday.

Angel Martir, 26, was arrested after police said he admitted exposing himself to young girls.

Police said Martir approached a girl who was walking to Kinelli School in the area of Yale and Amherst streets. The girl told authorities that he exposed himself to her.

Friday morning, a 16-year-old girl told police that she was walking down Fairfield Avenue when a man pulled up next to her and knocked on his window to get her attention.

Police said when the girl looked, the man pulled down his pants and touched himself.

The girl wrote down the man's license plate number, which led officers to Martir, according to police.

Hartford police said that Martir is a person of interest in four similar cases in surrounding towns.

Martir was charged with public indecency and breach of peace.
