Store Owner: Teen Robber Dressed As Ninja

Police Arrest 18-Year-Old

POSTED: 11:24 pm EDT April 27, 2007

Police have arrested teenagers in the alleged robbery of a store in Higganum.

Authorities told Eyewitness News that an 18-year-old hid in a cardboard box inside The Country Market and planned to rob the store of cash to buy a computer once everyone left.

The plan failed, however, when the 18-year-old jumped out of the box while the owner was still in the store. The owner said the 18-year-old dressed as a ninja and had a sword.

"It looked real, so I didn't take a chance to see how sharp it was," the owner told Eyewitness News.

Eyewitness News reported this was the second robbery attempt at the store. Police arrested a number of teens including the 18-year-old, whose mother is an employee at the store.
