Cadrin Shot By Police After Waving Fake Gun

MILFORD, Conn. -- A man remains in the intensive care unit after being shot during a confrontation with police outside his home.Milford police told Eyewitness News that on Saturday night officers were called to a domestic dispute on New Haven Avenue.Police said that when officers arrived, they were greeted by Rodger Cadrin, who had a sheet rock knife in one hand and what appeared to be a handgun in the other hand.Police said Cadrin's gun turned out to be a fake weapon.State police, who are now leading the investigation, told Eyewitness News that Milford Sgt. Daniel Sharoh, a 14-year veteran, shot Cadrin, who was rushed by paramedics to Yale New Haven Hospital.Police said they are investigating whether Cadrin was attempting to commit suicide by waving the fake gun at the officer.Milford police said they have responded to Cadrin's address before for an incident in which Cadrin could have been attempting to commit suicide.
