UPDATED: 7:25 pm EDT May 22, 2007

Manchester police are searching for a man believed to have sexually assaulted three women.

The last two attacks took place in the Green Manor neighborhood, east of Woodbridge Street on the east side of town, according to police.

In all of the cases, police said the assailant targeted the homes of women who lived alone.

On Aug. 6, 2001, the man sexually assaulted an 83-year-old women in her Square Village Apartment.

The next assault took place on Dec. 9, 2004, to a 57-year-old woman in her home in the Green Manor Neighborhood.

The last assault occurred on March 24 at another home in the same area to a 37-year-old woman.

Police said that they are confident that all three cases are connected.

"This is terrible what's happening, especially to older women," said Lori Easton, who lives in the same neighborhoods as the assaults.

Police described the assailant as a white man in his mid to late 30s or early 40s with a medium build.

"We do have some very tangible evidence," said Manchester Police Chief James Berry. "It's just a matter of trying to put it all together and match a body with the evidence."

Police urged residents to be more aware of their surroundings, to lock doors and call police to report anything suspicious.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to contact the Manchester Police Department by dialing 860-645-5583.
