Vehicle Struck Tree On Parkway, State Police Say

POSTED: 12:05 pm EDT September 5, 2007

A crash killed a man on the Wilbur Cross Parkway in New Haven late Wednesday morning.

A man in his 50s died when his car struck a tree near exit 59 in the southbound lanes, police told Eyewitness News. Authorities have not yet released the man's identity.

The crash stalled traffic for about seven miles, state transportation officials said.

State police said the crash marks the fourth fatal accident along that area of the parkway this summer.
