Surveillance video has captured pictures of a woman wanted in Connecticut and Massachusetts on allegations that she cashed counterfeit checks.

Connecticut State Police said the woman is linked to a counterfeit check-cashing ring in the Hartford area.

On Aug. 10, the woman cashed a counterfeit Sprague Board of Education check in the amount of $1,168.83 at a TD BankNorth branch in West Hartford, state police said.

Police said when school leaders learned of the check, they immediately contacted police.

Investigators said they believe the check-cashing ring is responsible for cashing more than $50,000 in counterfeit checks at other TD BankNorth locations throughout the state since June.

Police in Natick, Mass., are investigating a similar incident at a bank in their town on Aug. 22. During that incident, Natick authorities said a woman made four withdrawals over $1,000 from both a business and personal accounts.

If you have information regarding this investigation, contact state police by dialing 860-848-6500.
