WOODSTOCK, Conn. -- A Woodstock home has been slammed into by cars coming around a dangerous curve three times in the past decade.Marie Howe said she is getting a new kitchen, but not on her own terms.Marie Howe and her husband, Herb Howe, said they having a $30,000 renovation performed on their home, down to the foundation, after a speeding car slammed into the house last month.The car broke through the home feet away from where Marie Howe said she was standing.The Howes said the recent crash marks the third time in the past decade that the home has been hit."We used to sit out on the front porch, we don't dare to now," said Herb Howe.The Howes said they put boulders up to protect their property and selves."People hit them now, it's going to be a serious thing, but what else can we do?" Herb Howe said.State police said that they don't receive many complaints of speeders on the road, but that local legislators plan to talk to the Department of Transportation about changing the curve."They're not doing anything," Herb Howe said. "They don't care about me, that's my opinion, I'll be honest with you."The Howes said that last week someone crashed into their car, which was parked out front during the home's renovation.
