Former Norwich Officer Returns To Court

Norwich Police Say Former Officer Has Possession Of Badge

POSTED: 12:13 pm EST February 25, 2008

A former Norwich police officer returns to court Monday over a badge the police department said he never returned.

Jamie Longolucco was fired two months ago for what authorities claimed was his inability to follow the law. However, the Norwich Police Department said that Longolucco has possession of a second badge that he must return.

Longolucco's attorney said the former officer has not been able to find the badge.

A judge has ordered that Longolucco must locate the item and return back to court on March 10.

Longolucco has yet to be arraigned on charges of burglarizing a Mystic jewelry store two years ago. In addition, the former Norwich officer also faces charges in separate cases for in connection with punching two women in the face in New London and informing a resident trooper that he was having homicidal thoughts about the police chief who fired him.

Officials said that having two badges is not a common practice.
