Detective Honored For Work In Finding Teen

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. -- A Bloomfield police detective has been awarded the 2008 National Missing and Exploited Children's Award for his role in finding a missing child.Detective Eric Kovanda was one of more than 50 detectives nationwide nominated for the award.Kovanda played a role in the discovery of a Bloomfield teen who had been missing for more than a year. The girl was found in a hidden room of a West Hartford home.Kovanda will be honored at a Congressional breakfast in Washington in May.
Kovanda said that he is honored to be nominated but said that he was one of many investigators whose efforts brought the case to a successful conclusion.Link: National Missing and Exploited Children's Awards
