Waterbury Police Continue Search For Man

UPDATED: 6:05 pm EDT May 1, 2008

Police are searching for a man they said exposed himself to children on three separate occasions and tried to lure a 10-year-old girl into his car.

Police said all four victims identified Edgardo Lopez from the four incidents, which date back to February.

Lt. Chris Corbett of the Waterbury Police Department said that Lopez has been avoiding officers and hasn't returned to his Bergin Circle home since Tuesday.

Police said Lopez was spotted on Tuesday near Chase Elementary School.

Lopez's sister, Lillian Torres, told Eyewitness News that she thinks police are looking for the wrong man.

"There's no way. He has a lot more respect than that. We were raised better than that," she said.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to contact the Waterbury Police Department by dialing 203-755-1234.
