Police Identify Southington Crash Victim

Man Dies In Early-Morning I-84 Crash

A 50-year-old man was killed in an early-morning crash in Southington.

Joseph Matczak, of Southington, was killed when his Mazda and a Jeep collided near exit 32 on the eastbound side of Interstate 84.

The crash occurred around 5 a.m.

Police said Matczak's car crossed several lanes and hit a metal guardrail on the right shoulder.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
