HARTFORD -- Police said they received reports about shots being fired Sunday morning on Madison Street."I came home about 5 in the morning, and the street was blocked off. So I have no idea what went down," resident Corall Stevens said. When police arrived, they said they encountered a man at a home who started to fire shots at them. They said the man took off running after firing the shots, but he didn't make it far.Police said they tracked him down in one of the back yards on the next street, which is Lincoln Street.
No one was injured during the gunfire, and police said they arrested the man and took him back to headquarters for questioning. They said they found the weapon he used and towed away a white sport utility vehicle as evidence. The shooting comes less than 24 hours after two other shootings occurred in Hartford. At about 1 p.m. Saturday, witnesses said about 10 shots were fired on Vine Street.A short while later, two victims arrived at the hospital, officials said. They survived, but not long after that, police said someone gunned down a man in front of the Johnson Fish Market. The 23-year-old victim eventually died at the hospital."It's sad to hear, but it happens a lot -- especially in the neighborhood -- so it's not strange to hear. It's not a good thing, but it happens," Stevens said.Police aren't saying whether all of these shootings are connected, but they said they're left searching for answers to each of these cases.
