State Suspends Day Care's License
Day Care Owner Has Criminal Past

ENFIELD, Conn. -- An Enfield day care abruptly shut its doors after having its license suspended by the state's Department of Public Health.Paradise For Children day care was closed after allegations were made against the woman who runs it.According to the suspension order, the Department of Public Health discovered uncovered outlets and the use of space heaters at the center.The department said it also received a complaint that owner Kimberly Carago used inappropriate language in front of the children on several occasions.
Eyewitness News found that Carago has two larceny charges on her criminal record from seven years ago.In March, Carago was charged with DUI. Police said when Carago was pulled over, her 7-year-old son was in her car.Carago told Eyewitness News that she had two glasses of wine while at a friend's house for dinner and that she made a mistake.
