Bomb-Making Materials Found In Senior Complex

NAUGATUCK, Conn. -- A man is arrested after police said materials to make bombs were found in his unit at a Naugatuck senior housing complex.The bomb squad was called to Oak Terrace Housing Complex on Conrad Street around 2 p.m. on Thursday.Police said an officer who had responded to a unit at the complex for an unrelated reason said he spotted an accelerant stored in an improper way.Police said they didn't feel comfortable handling the material, so they requested the help of the bomb squad.Officers then obtained a search warrant and entered the unit around 5:30 p.m.Police said bomb-making components and chemistry books were found inside the unit.Officers said drug paraphernalia and a weapon were also found inside the home.The man was taken into custody of Naugatuck police.
