Attempted Robber Leads Police In Chase

VERNON, Conn. -- Police said an attempted bank robber led police in a pursuit through several Connecticut towns on Wednesday morning.Officers said a masked man attempted to enter the First New England Federal Credit Union on Hyde Avenue. The man was unable to open the door because of a computer glitch, police said.The attempted robber then fled the bank in a car with another person.The car was described as a white Dodge Magnum, with Connecticut license plate 703uXG, police said.After following the car through several towns, police called off the chase because of rain.
