WETHERSFIELD, Conn. -- Two people were killed and three others injured in an early-morning crash on Interstate 91 in Wethersfield.State police said a car carrying a group of girls under the age of 21 ran off the southbound side of the roadway and into the woods after 3 a.m.Police said the car's driver, identified as 20-year-old Taneasha Weaver, of Middletown, lost control of the vehicle and struck the wire rope guard rail. The car broke through the wire rope and hit a tree before rolling down an embankment, police said.Weaver and two passengers, identified as Jazzmine Overton, 19, of Middletown and Tamisha Belin, 18, of Middletown, were transported to Harford Hospital via ambulance. Two other passengers, identified as Shanequa Overton, 18, of New Britain, and Jasmine Parker. 20, of Middletown, were ejected from the car and were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The right and center lanes of the roadway were closed following the crash, but reopened by 8:30 a.m.
