EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The hum of a hydrogen fuel cell motor is something many car manufactures are getting ready to produce.A stop in East Hartford is one of nine on a tour promoting the new technology. In many cases, these cars will get double the mileage their gas counterparts get now, authorities said. But at $2 million to $4 million to build a hydrogen fueling station, authorities said, it will be a while before you'll see one on every corner -- unless the government helps to foot the bill.If the technology takes off nationwide, Connecticut's economy could hum right along with it."There are going to be needs for people to make them, service them, maintain them,” said Elliot Ginsberg, of the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology. “It's an industry like any other industry that has huge potential relative to a work force."
