UPDATED: 7:52 pm EDT September 25, 2008

Local protesters took part in Thursday’s National Day of Protest, which was set up to oppose the government bailing out large corporations.

The protesters said the government should be helping out the average taxpayer.

Connecticut protesters gathered outside AIG in Hartford. They said the bailout will take away from important programs, like education infrastructure and energy alternatives.

The taxpayers said they deserve help because their money is used to help Wall Street.
