STONINGTON, Conn. -- Police said a man was killed in an assault on a boat docked in Stonington Friday night.

Officers responded to reports of an assault on a boat docked at Seaport Marina in the Mystic section of town at about 9:20 p.m.

Police said an injured 29-year-old man was found injured on the boat and transported by ambulance to L & M Hospital in New London, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation by the Stonington Police Department and state police.
