Police Arrest 3 High-Schoolers For Crime

HAMDEN, Conn. -- Police said an elderly Pennsylvania resident suffered a large laceration near his eye and swelling on his cheek when he was assaulted and robbed in a Hamden parking lot.The 84-year-old said an individual approached him Monday in the Shaw's parking lot and demanded his wallet. When he refused, the man said one of the two 16-year-olds began punching him in the face several times.The man was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital.Officers later located the two individuals who were involved in the incident. The teen who punched the man was found hiding behind a Dumpster near a Hamden Mart business.Police also arrested a 15-year-old involved in the incident. Police said the girl aided in the robbery.All three individuals are Hamden High School students, police said.
