State To Hold Financial Forums

Banking, Insurance Departments To Participate In Events

The state is offering a series of financial forums to address concerns amid a turbulent economy.

Gov. Jodi Rell said the forums are meant to address residents' concerns over the security of their investments, mortgages, bank accounts and other financial holdings.

The state departments of banking and insurance are participating in the forums.

The forums will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Oct. 14: Auditorium of Gateway Community College, North Haven campus, 88 Bassett Road.
  • Oct. 16: Room 2C of the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Ave., Hartford
  • Oct. 20: University of Connecticut's Waterbury Campus in the multi-purpose room, 99 East Main St.
  • Oct. 27: Housatonic Community College, Beacon Hall Event Center, room 214, 900 Lafayette Boulevard, Bridgeport
  • Oct. 30: Norwalk Community College (East Campus), PepsiCo Theater, 188 Richards Ave.
